About Us
SAKHI STL – St. Louis Alliance of Indian Women is a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating culture, building community, and inspiring leadership among Indian women in the St. Louis area.
The word Sakhi means “female friend” or “companion,” reflecting the spirit at the heart of our organization—a community where women can connect, support one another, share experiences, and grow together.
SAKHI brings together Indian women across generations and stages of life to build meaningful relationships and create a strong sense of belonging. Through educational programs, cultural celebrations, social gatherings, meaningful conversations, and philanthropic initiatives, we create opportunities for women to learn from one another, develop personally and professionally, celebrate our shared heritage, and contribute positively to the greater St. Louis community.
From conversations about financial well-being, health, parenting, and personal growth to cultural experiences, community service, and opportunities for the next generation, our goal is to create programming that is relevant, welcoming, and meaningful.
At SAKHI, we believe the connections we build today can create a stronger community and a lasting legacy for generations to come.
